BEMIDJI -- Year after year, law enforcement cautions people to plan ahead for New Year’s Eve. This year is no different. Designate a driver, take a taxi, don’t drink and drive.
The statewide effort, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” increases patrols on Minnesota roads between Thanksgiving and Jan. 2. In Bemidji, there will be additional patrols for New Year’s Eve as well.
“Their purpose will be to increase public safety by locating and arresting impaired drivers,” said Bemidji Police Chief Mike Mastin. “The public should expect to see an increased number of traffic stops throughout the city of Bemidji and Beltrami County.”
