GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- A former worker with the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians has admitted to using Tribal funds to buy computer equipment, which he then resold for more than $233,000.

Michael Gerard Buchanan, 52, appeared in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids on Monday where he pleaded guilty to theft from a tribal organization.

The Benzie County man faces up to five years in prison when he returns to federal court for sentencing in April.
