Funeral ceremonies for Rose Downwind to be held Jan. 6-8 in Red Lake

RED LAKE—Funeral services for Rose Downwind of Redby, Minn., have been scheduled for Jan. 6-8 in Red Lake, according to her family.

The services are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Jan. 6, a Wednesday, at the Red Lake Humanities Center on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. The ceremony will continue until a traditional American Indian burial is held Jan. 8.

Downwind, 31, a mother of five, was reported missing to the Bemidji Police Department on Oct. 25 and her remains were discovered by law enforcement on Dec. 9. Two men have been arrested in connection to her death and disappearance and a third man also is being sought in the case.
