Forced-sterilization accusation are being taken very seriously according to Saskatchewan's Premier
Premier Brad Wall says the issue of Aboriginal women being sterilized against their will after having a baby, is something that won't be taken lightly.
The story first emerged after a woman in Saskatoon came forward about her experience in 2010.
She says she was held in hospital, after having her 7th baby, until she would agree to be sterilized.
The province's Sexual Sterilization Act was instated in 1929, and was "intended to stop 'mental defectives' from having children."
