Red Lake Upsets 10th Ranked Cass Lake in Warrior's Home Opener 93-79 - P11

Cass Lake-Bena 79 at Red Lake (DH) 93

Rob McLain recorded a triple double to help lead the Red Lake Warriors to the win over Cass Lake-Bena in front of a packed house at Red Lake.

McLain scored 19 points, pulled down 20 rebounds and blocked 10 shots to help the Warriors improve to 2-0.

The defending Section 8A Champion Warriors led 45-42 at halftime, but had to withstand several Cass Lake-Bena rallies, including one that tied the game at 70-70 with 5:17 left in the game.

Alvin Wind and Arnold Kingbird each scored 24 points for Cass Lake-Bena as they fall to 1-1 on the season.

Both teams had four players in double figures and will meet again on January 8th in Cass Lake (96.7 FM).

They will also be involved in the annual Northland Community and Technical College Holiday Tournament in Thief River Falls next week.

Red Lake will face Stephen-Argyle at 6:30 pm Monday, December 7th (96.7 FM) with Cass Lake-Bena facing Fertile-Beltrami at 4:45 pm on Monday, December 7th (96.7 FM).
