School Board Meeting Hears Native American Concerns

A public hearing for Tribal Leaders and Native Americans was held at Monday night’s board of education meeting. There were several members of the tribal community on hand for comment.

Chris Little Cook, Title VII Project Director, began by reporting to the board on the Impact Aid Program.

“The Impact Aid Program exists to help federally impacted school districts adversely affected by the loss of tax revenue caused by federal ownership of land or the enrollment of children whose parents work or live on federal lands,” said Little Cook.
