Minnesota Lottery director resigns after travel expense report


ST. PAUL -- The Minnesota State Lottery director resigned Friday, a day after a newspaper reporter questioned him about expenses he charged the state.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported Ed Van Petten submitted his resignation to Gov. Mark Dayton's chief of staff. Dayton's office indicated it immediately will launch a search to replace Van Petten.
