Connecticut probes Oklahoma tribe's payday loan businesses

An Oklahoma Indian tribe that the Connecticut Department of Banking claims runs two high-interest loan operations to take advantage of strapped urban residents, has won at least a delay in its battle against imposition of $800,000 in penalties.

While the tribe views the recent state Superior Court ruling as a victory, it’ll be up to the banking department to look at other issues and decide whether to pursue further.
