BEMIDJI — The Pine River-Backus High School boys basketball team held off a late comeback bid to beat Cass Lake-Bena 58-53 at the Sanford Center in Bemidji Thursday night.
Konrad Bueckers scored a game-high 18 points while Zach Struss added 16 for the Tigers. Jared Brown led the Panthers with 13 points followed by Terick Frazer’s 12 points.
Despite the loss, Cass Lake-Bena’s found success from long-range, hitting 10 three-pointers in the game while Pine River-Backus made just six.
