Bus crash injures four near Hackensack on Wednesday

HACKENSACK -- Four students were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon after a school bus overturned on its way to a field trip west of Hackensack.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported the crash occurred shortly before noon on Nature Center Drive Northwest.

Responders arrived and found a school bus carrying 52 students and four adults from the Elk River School District had left the road and overturned on its way southbound to the Deep Portage Learning Center. The sheriff’s office reported the roadway was snow-covered and slippery at the time of the crash.
