Linda Lorraine Swanholm, 68, passed away at her home in Bloomington on Friday, December 11, 2015. She was born May 12, 1947 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Linda was adopted as a child and raised in Richfield, Minnesota. She graduated from Washburn High School and attended college at the University of Minnesota. She raised her three children in south Minneapolis and watched her family grow as they each connected with another family from northern Minnesota. Linda became a grandmother to many and loved spending time and talking to all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a great fondness for animals and raised many over the years such as dogs, cats, turtles, rabbits, fish, a horse and a spider monkey. She loved gardening, dancing, karaoke, puzzles, television and playing card games and canoeing with her grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by special friend and other grandma to her grandchildren Naomi Countryman and son-in-law Michael Wayne Kingbird Sr.

She is survived her special friend Fred Breahney, three children, David (Karen) Swanholm of Fargo, ND and twins; Scott (Patty) Swanholm and Kristen Swanholm both of Minneapolis, 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

A wake for Linda will begin at 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 14th and continue until her 10:00 a.m. service on Tuesday, December 15th all being held at the Veterans Memorial Building in Cass Lake, Minnesota. Pastor Mark R. Olson will officiate. Those helping to lay Linda to rest are Scott Swanholm Jr., Shane Swanholm, Austin Swanholm, Nicholas Staples, Michael Kingbird Jr. and Anthony Swanholm. Alternate pallbearer is David Staples. Her honorary pallbearers are Lacey Swanholm, Diane Staples, Roberta (Staples) Wind and Danielle Larson. Burial will be held at the Mokahum Cemetery in Cass Lake following her service.
