Two men arrested in Redby woman's disappearance; body found in shallow grave


BEMIDJI -- Two men have been arrested for second-degree murder in the disappearance of a Redby, Minn., woman and a body has been found in a shallow grave northwest of Bemidji.

Marchello Anthony Cimmarusti, 40, and Brandon Joseph Rossbach, 31, were arrested for their roles in the case of Rose Downwind, 31, a mother of five who was last seen Oct. 21, the Bemidji Police Department said Thursday. Cimmarusti, who already was in custody on domestic abuse charges and other violations, was arrested on the charges overnight. Rossbach was taken into custody late Wednesday evening, according to the Beltrami County Jail website.

According to police, a body was located and exhumed from a shallow grave northwest of the city of Bemidji. The body is being sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy and to confirm the identity.
