Officers swarm Nisswa-area property after 911 call for help; caller taken to detox
NISSWA, Minn. -- A 911 call of a woman whispering in the dispatcher's ear that she was being held by gunpoint Wednesday had a mass law enforcement response from several agencies converging on the residence south of Nisswa.
However, the call for help ended with the woman being found to be intoxicated and taken to a detox center, otherwise unharmed.
The call on Forest Hills Drive near Highway 371 in north-central Minnesota came in at 9:48 a.m. Chief Deputy Dennis Lasher of the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office said when officers arrived, the perimeter of the property was secured and officers got into position. Lasher said the call reported that the woman was injured and possibly shot.
