Two sentenced in beating on Standing Rock Indian Reservation

PIERRE, S.D. -- A Minneapolis man has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for assault, while a Mobridge, S.D., woman has been convicted of a crime for not reporting the incident to law officers.

Clayton Montreal, 29, was sentenced last week for punching and kicking the victim after an apparent argument over money in McLaughlin on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation. She suffered bruising to various parts of her body.

Wyndee Sitting Dog, 32, was sentenced to time already served for failing to report the beating which occurred in a van after the argument. The crime is called misprision of a felony.
