Former Oglala Sioux officer found not guilty of excessive force in Taser incident

Sixteen months after a video showed her using a Taser more than two dozen times on a drunken man lying on the ground, former Oglala Sioux Police Officer Rebecca Sotherland walked away free from a Rapid City courtroom Tuesday, acquitted of all three charges against her.

After the three "not guilty" verdicts were read in U.S. District Court in Rapid City, Sotherland, 33, said she was not surprised by the verdicts "because I did nothing wrong."
