The Red Lake High School girls' basketball team is ranked No. 19 in Class 1A in the Minnesota Basketball News pre-season rankings: Mountain Iron-Buhl No. 1, Maranatha No. 2, Lyle-Pacelli No. 3, Browerville No. 4, Ada-Borup No. 5, Goodhue No. 6, Win-E-Mac No. 7, Mankato Loyola No. 8, Cromwell No. 9, and Lester Prairie-Holy Trinity No. 10.

Hopkins is No. 1 in 4A, Orono is No. 1 in 3A, and Dover-Eyota is No. 1 in 2A.
