Snow falls, and slippery roads follow

BEMIDJI—The Bemidji area missed the brunt of winter's first real storm Tuesday, but enough snow (and rain) fell to allow for some covered and slippery roads.

Early Tuesday, the Bemidji area was included in a winter weather advisory through the night as snowfall was moving north and to the east from the Red River Valley, according to the National Weather Service office in Grand Forks. Snow accumulations were forecast to be in the 1- to 2-inch range in Bemidji, but up to 4 to 6 inches, was expected mostly to the south and moving east. Later Tuesday, Bemidji and much of northwest Minnesota were removed from the advisory as the snow moved east, where an additional 1 to 4 inches was expected to fall, the weather service said.
