Location: Little Rock Community Center

Marlene Sue Thompson, age 71, began her spiritual journey on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji, MN with her family by her side. She was born on July 22, 1944 in Red Lake, the daughter of Joseph, Sr. and Martha (Kelly) May.

Marlene was a very family orientated lady who loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She took pride in her cooking and taking care of her home. Marlene liked to travel, go to Pow-Wows, fishing, going to the casino, shopping at various stores and finding little treasures, listening to country music, doing jigsaw and word puzzles, and watching her favorite T.V. shows. Marlene put family first. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, her grandchildren, and even her favorite pets. Especially during the holidays. Whenever someone needed help, you could count on Marlene to be the first one there. She loved all her children and grandchildren and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family that Marlene joins again are her parents; Joseph, Sr. and Martha, brothers; Arnold May, Charles May, Reginald May, and Miles May, and one sister; Brenda Turner.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her sons; Ronald Lussier of Minneapolis, Anton (Wanetta) Thompson of Hinckley, and Arnold (Beverly Kingbird) of Red Lake, one daughter; Lisa Thompson of Red Lake, brothers; Robert and Joe May, Jr., one sister Paula Gil-Garcia, 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Old Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake. All family and friends are welcome.

Marlene's care has been entrusted to the Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker, MN. Online condolences for the family may be given at http://www.northernpeace.com
