Red Lake School District switching to new instant alert system

Greetings Red Lake parents, guardians, students and staff,

I am Ken Perreault Red Lake School District Technology Coordinator. I want to inform you that beginning December 1st, Red Lake school district will be switching to a new instant alert system. For the past few years we have been using School Reach to contact you through phone, email and text. The new system which I am using now is called School Messenger. You will notice very little difference, most of the changes are on our end. One key difference and the reason you are getting this message is because in order to receive text messages you will need to opt in. Early next week , you will receive another call (or email) asking you to keep an eye out for a text message, the message will ask you if you would like to receive text messages. To opt in all you will need to do is reply to the text with the word YES or simply the letter Y. If you would NOT like to receive text messages simply do not reply. Or, if you opt in and would like to opt out at any time reply to the message STOP. I need to inform you that if you opt in standard texting fees may apply through your wireless carrier. If you have questions or concerns about this please email me at kperr@redlake.k12.mn.us.

Thank you and have a great day.

Ken Perreault
