Babaamaajimowinan (Telling of news in different places)
Several student organizations at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon have come together to host a week of events to draw attention to the issue of murdered and missing indigenous women.
The U of S Students Union along with the Indigenous Students' Council, Building Bridges, USSU Women's Centre and other members of the community have organized several events this week.
On Tuesday a panel discussion will take place (starting at 4 p.m.) at the North Concourse with a number of speakers including Pauline Muskego, Myrna LaPlante, Tala Tootoosis, Marcel Petit and Rob Innes. A meal and a healing circle will follow in the International Students and Study Abroad Centre (ISSAC).
