Darla Banks Says "The Wait Has Been Painful for All of Us:" Dennis Banks has Participated in Search Parties

BEMIDJI, MINNESOTA – Darla Banks, the mother of Rose Downwind who is still missing after three weeks, says the waiting has been difficult for her family. Downwind, 31, is the granddaughter of American Indian Movement co-founder Dennis Banks.

“The wait has been painful for all of us. Her five children miss their mother and wonder what has happened to her,” stated Darla Banks to Native News Online. Downwind’s children range in age from one- to nine-years-old. “I approciate all of the prayers and those who have held ceremonies to bring her home safely.”
