Margaret Jean Blesi, age 73, of Brooklyn Center, MN, formerly of Cass Lake and Federal Dam, MN, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Elim Home in Princeton, MN.

Margaret was born on June 15, 1942 in Cass Lake, MN to Thomas and Lucy (Johnson) Mitchell. At the age of 16, she moved to Federal Dam, MN and graduated from Remer High School. She went on to attend Tech School for sewing and then moved to the Minneapolis area and gained employment as a seamstress. Margaret married Kenny Blesi and was blessed with three daughters: Angela, Annette and Carol.

Margaret had many hobbies and interests. She was skilled with her hands and enjoyed sewing and making teddy bears for family and friends. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed going on trips around the United States with her sister, Barb. Over the years they visited many fun places including New York and Hawaii. She always brought back a spoon from each of her travels to add to her collection.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Angela Blesi, Annette Swanson and Carol (Bob) Usher; eight grandchildren: Jamie, Tiffany, Samantha (Phil), Kristopher, Kaylee, Kyle, Jake and Jena; seven great-grandchildren: Skyllar, Adallyn, Rhyllie, Rhyder, Kyla, Kamden and Kolton; her sister, Barbara Barney; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Tom Mitchell and Richard Mitchell; and four sisters: Linda Mitchell, Irene Mitchell, Evelyn Mitchell and Diane Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Veterans Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN with visitation beginning at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 12, 2015 until the time of service on Friday. Casketbearers will be: Derrick Barney Jr., Bob Usher, Kyle Usher, Isaiah DeLaPaz, Noah DeLaPaz, and Eric Barney. Honorary casketbearers will be: Derrick Barney Sr., Christopher Mike Jones, Kristopher Blesi, Jake Usher, Ken Mitchell and Vernon Mitchell.
