Teenager's body found in field near Mankato

MANKATO, Minn.-- A death investigation is underway in Blue Earth County Wednesday after a 16-year-old girl’s body was found in a field west of Mankato.

The teenager was from nearby New Ulm, but her name hasn’t been released pending notification of relatives.

The girl’s body was found after the sheriff’s office received a call about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday that a vehicle was sitting in a field about 200 yards off of Minnesota Highway 68, the main road between Mankato and New Ulm.
