Two vehicle crash leaves three injured

On Sunday, November 1, 2015 at approximately 6:00 p.m., Beltrami County 911 Dispatch Center received a report of a two vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of North Plantagenet Rd SW and Monroe Avenue SW in Bemidji Township, located approximately 2 miles SW of Bemidji.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a blue 2002 Buick Century Custom, operated by Patty Beighley, age 54, of Bemidji, MN was traveling east on Plantagenet Rd SW when a northbound red 2002 Buick Century Custom, operated by Cassidy Sharpnack, age 20, of Hines, MN failed to stop for a stop sign and struck the eastbound vehicle operated by Beighley.

Cassidy Sharpnack was flown from the scene by North Memorial Air ambulance to a Fargo, ND hospital for treatment of her injuries. A passenger in Sharpnack’s vehicle, 20 year old Jonathon Peterson, of Hines, MN was transported by Bemidji Ambulance to Sanford-Bemidji Hospital for treatment. Patti Beighley was also transported by Bemidji Ambulance to Sanford-Bemidji Hospital for treatment of injuries. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

The crash remains under investigation by the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office and MN State Patrol. Use of alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Bemidji Police Department, MN State Patrol, Leech Lake Police Department, Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, Bemidji Fire Department, North Memorial Air Service and Bemidji Ambulance Service.
