Petitions circulated to remove tribal officials

As the Comanche Nation awaits the scheduling of a special general council meeting to seat a new tribal administrator, some tribal members are attempting to recall all the members of the tribe's business committee.

The tribe's meeting hall north of Lawton was filled Oct. 24 with 625 members of its 16,000 roster onsite to determine if the removal of Tribal Administrator Will Owens from his post was constitutional. The decision was upheld by a vote of 297-293 the decision.
