Dog the Bounty Hunter Offers $10,000 Reward, Joins Search For Dennis Banks Granddaughter Rose Downwind

After reports that the granddaughter of Dennis Banks, Rose Downwind, has been missing since October 19th, Dog the Bounty Hunter has joined the search to find her and has offered $10,000 of his own money for information leading to finding her.

In a radio interview on Native Trailblazers, Dog the Bounty Hunter (aka Duane Chapman,) said he would be also be assisting in the search.

"We are almost positive she did not run away," said Chapman.

Though Chapman says Downwind's ex-boyfriend has not been connected as of yet in any way to the disappearance, he did comment that Downwind may have been the victim of an abusive relationship.

"I have to say that I am 33% Apache and I just don't get the fact that a Native man could hit a Native woman. This is not a Native thing, there has to be some sort of bad blood in there."

Rose Downwind has been missing since October 19th after going to a Target store in in Bemidji, Minnesota on October 19, 2015. On Monday morning, family members saw Downwind drop her children off at school. When Downwind's sister went that same day to pick up her own children, Rose was not at home.

Dennis Banks released a statement to Native News Online Tuesday:

I am seeking assistance in a search to find my granddaughter, Rose Downwind, 31, of Redby, Minnesota. She was last seen at a Target Store in Bemidji, Minnesota. Rose is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 120 lbs. and has a light brown clear complexion.

BESIDES THE USUAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, I AM CALLING ON THE REGIONAL MEMBERS OF THE AMERICAN INDIAN MOVEMENT TO ASSIST BY GOING DOOR TO DOOR ASKING IF ANYONE HAS SEEN HER OR KNOWS OF HER WHEREABOUTS. I AM ALSO SEEKING ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE INTERNET, FACEBOOK, TWITTER, OR TEXT TO HELP LOCATE HER.

My daughter, Darla Banks, the mother of Rose, is distraught and very fearful of foul play. She is anxious to locate her as soon as possible. Rose is the mother of five children.

Banks is asking anyone with information regarding Rose Downwind's disappearance to please call the following numbers: The Rose Downhill Hotline at 763-242-4242, Darla Banks at 763-354-9434 or Carol Collins at 616-204-3624.
