Community supports 'Warrior Nation': Book signing at Red Lake Nation College well attended

RED LAKE—Community members of all ages on Tuesday night breezed through the recently opened doors of the Red Lake Nation College for a book launch and signing of "Warrior Nation: A History of the Red Lake Ojibwe" by author Anton Treuer. The waters of Lower Red Lake, travelled by so many ancestors of the Red Lake Nation, met a night sky outside the north facing Bremer Student Union windows.

Red Lake Nation College President Dan King welcomed guests to the college, saying completion of the building and opening the school is part of community development and reform.

Treuer spoke after King's remarks, giving an overview of the book touching on some of the past developments and successes of the Red Lake Nation—including the importance of Upper and Lower Red Lakes.
