Dennis Banks Issues Plea for Assistance in Finding His Missing 31-Year-Old Granddaughter

FEDERAL DAM, MINNESOTA – American Indian Movement co-founder Dennis Banks issued a statement in hopes of locating his missing granddaughter, Rose Downwind, who was reportedly last seen at the Target store in Bemidji, Minnesota on October, 2015.

"She is still missing and we hope there has been no foul play," Banks told Native News Online on Tuesday evening.

Downwind, the mother of five, dropped her children off at school on Monday morning, October 19, 2015 and has not been seen or heard from since by anyone in her family. A sister went by her Downwind's home so they could pick their children up at school in the afternoon, but she was not home.

The Bemidji Police Department has been notified and are seeking information about Downwind's whereabouts.

Dennis Banks released the following statement seeking assistance:

I am seeking assistance in a search to find my granddaughter, Rose Downwind, 31, of Redby, Minnesota.

She was last seen at a Target Store in Bemidji, Minnesota on

Rose is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 120 lbs. and has a light brown clear complexion.

My daughter, Darla Banks, the mother of Rose, is distraught and very fearful of foul play. She is anxious to locate her as soon as possible. Rose is the mother of five children.
