Tribal Members Seek Federal Help For Suicide Rates

PINE RIDGE, SD - Tribal leaders on the Pine Ridge Reservation have been searching for solutions to tragic bursts of suicides that have included children. Thursday they brought the problem and the need for help to South Dakota Sen. John Thune and Rep. Kristi Noem.

The two Republican members of South Dakota’s three-person congressional delegation went to the Pine Ridge Reservation Thursday to talk about suicide rates, criminal justice needs and problems with budget shortfalls there and in other areas.
