Workforce Fairness Coalition Releases Statement on Mayor's Proposal for the Working Families Agenda

Minneapolis, MN (October 14, 2015) – The Workforce Fairness Coalition, a group of businesses, non-profits, and associations committed to keeping Minneapolis a progressive workforce leader, today released a statement in response to Mayor Betsy Hodges changes to the proposed Working Families Agenda:

“We thank Mayor Hodges for listening to the thousands of people who have raised their voices in opposition to these unworkable proposals. We’ve seen customers, employees and employers join together to share personal stories and concerns about how Minneapolis should move forward.

There are still significant questions about what is being proposed that we all need to review and understand. Employers across Minneapolis share the same goal of making sure families and workers are supported and engaged in the energy of this community.

The best way for Minneapolis to make an impact on this issue is to create a truly inclusive and transparent process that can help us all work together, a way that is above any one group’s specific agenda or political objective. ”

-Todd Klingle, president of the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce
