Two arrested on drug charges near Cass Lake

BEMIDJI -- A Leech Lake Tribal police officer making a traffic stop Sunday found 26 grams of methamphetamine, Oxycodone tablets and two illegally possessed firearms in a car carrying two Minnesota men.

Gary Allen Miller, 32, of Longville, and Gregory Paul Johnson, 29, of Onamia, were arrested on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance near Cass Lake, after the investigating officer deployed his K-9 partner for a drug search. The men were sent to Beltrami County Jail and could face additional charges -- weapons and possession of stolen property -- resulting from the stop, according to a release from the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department.
