Denver declares Oct. 12 'Indigenous People's Day' instead of 'Columbus Day'

Once known as “Columbus Day,” October 12 will now be called “Indigenous People’s Day” in Denver.

The city and county, along with cities around the country, voted Monday in favor of the proclamation. Denver City Council’s decision was unanimous.
