Students playing stickball at Annual Meeting (wild art)

Area students participate in a stickball contest Tuesday during the 55th Chickasaw Annual Meeting and 27th Annual Festival in Tishomingo. Young ladies taking part in the social stickball contest are unfettered by rules. They may pick the ball up with their hands, throw the ball to score points, and may even grab and hold male players. Students from across the region are learning Chickasaw culture, heritage and traditions during the gala which continues through Saturday, Oct. 3.
