Cody Eric Piche, giizhibbaabiwash which means "Swirling Wind", age 19, of Red Lake, MN, began his spiritual journey on Friday, September 25, 2015 in Crookston, MN. He was born on February 4, 1996 in Bemidji, the son of Luis Brown and Norma Piche.

Cody loved to play football, basketball, write his own music, play his x-box and hang around with his friends.

The family that Cody leaves behind are his mother; Norma Piche and father Luis Brown, maternal grandparents; Doreen Smith and Harvey Benais, maternal siblings; Kimberlee Anderson, Kayla (Jeff Trainer) Anderson, Kevin (Courtney Holstein) Anderson, paternal siblings; Tomee Brown, Louis Brown, Jr., Nate Brown, Gretchen Brown, Montgomery Brown, and Macaulay Brown, niece; Aubree Ella, very special nephew; D'Angelo Brown, special aunts; June Thomas and Grace Nass, aunts; Harlene Benais, and Connie Fahlstrom, uncles; Harvey (Sarah) Thomas, Earl (Lisa) Thomas, Dale (Nona) Manning and Harlen Benais. Also, numerous aunts, uncles, and relatives in Canada.

A wake for Cody began Saturday, September 26, 2015 and will continue until the Traditional Services at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2015 all held at the Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake. Spiritual leader will be Charlie Nelson. Pallbearers will be Kyle Head, Gordon Lee Norris, Harlen Benais, Andrew Barrett, Kyle Thomas, and Kevin Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Harvey Thomas, Earl Thomas, Frank Barrett, Dale Manning, Wally Holstein, and Chris Landon. Flower girls will be Rachel Stillday, Keanna Kingbird and Kali Lussier. Interment will be held in Red Lake following the service.
