Alvina Florence (Stately) Strong, 88, of Redby, Minnesota passed away at Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, Mn. She was born May 15, 1927, the daughter of Rose (Sayers) and Roman P. Stately Sr.

Alvina was raised and educated in Red Lake. She was employed with the Red Lake School District for 27 years. She enjoyed watching the Twins and Vikings games with Steve, going to bingo and the casino. She enjoyed spending time and having get-togethers with her family. She was a very loving mother and grandmother, who raised her children and some of her grandchildren by herself. She was good to everyone and helped out when she could.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roman and Rose, brothers, Clarence "Sonny", George and Jerry, sisters, Mary "Peaches", Marian "Babe" and Margaret "Lady Bug" and her husband Harvey Strong Sr., her children, Harvey Jr, Raymond "Burr" and Mona Bailey and grandchildren, Gary Lee and Rhoda and Julius "Fury" (Stately) Webster, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Alvina is survived by her brother, Roman "Ducker" Stately, her special son, Steve, daughters, Cheryl, Jo "Larry" Dudley, Beverly, Billie Jean and Michelle "Missy" Strong.

A wake will be held on Friday, September 25th at the Red Lake Community Center beginning at 1:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 26 at 11:00 a.m., with Father Jerry officiating. Active pallbearers will be Corey Bailey, Michael Strong, Robert "Bob" Dudley, Todd Barrett Sr., Randy Lee Barrett, Nicholas Strong, Michael Hegstrom, Greg Stately, Arlyn P. Barrett, Robert "Bobby" Barrett, Jerry Stately, Jeff Stately, Bruce Johnson, Bruce Taylor, Kevin Patterson, and Quentin Strong. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kim Stately, Robyn Dudley, Kathi Dudley, Melanie "Eppy" Stately, Chelsi Barrett, Angie Strong, Marilee Strong, Nevaeh Graves, Jenny Schoenborn, Laurie Klein, Beth Stately, Rose Johnson, Wendy Johnson, Kaycie Basswod, Kristie Basswood, Joelle Drouillard, Kellie Basswood, Merri Jo Barrett, Rosa Oakgrove, Destinee Barrett, Karalee Barrett, Gloria Cobenais Ina Mae McNeil, Vivian "Tinny" Clark and Winnifred Juarez.
