Myrna "Granny" Webster-Smith

Myrna "Granny" Webster-Smith left us suddenly on August 22nd 2015. Myrna became ill on July 29th 2015 and had to be hospitalized. It was later found that a staph infection invaded her spinal column. Myrna was looking forward to completing her rehabilitation and getting back on her feet, so she could finish living her life, but the Creator had other plans for her.

Myrna was born to Julius and Evanell (Jackson) Webster in Redby Minnesota on July 4th 1941. Myrna, along with her mother, father, and siblings moved to the Minneapolis area when she was a teenager. She gave birth to two daughters (Diana & Margaret Webster) and one son (Thomas Webster) who she loved dearly. She supported their extracurricular activities and was even a den mother for her girls' Brownie troop.

Myrna had the pleasure of meeting Archibald "Clete" Smith and they fell in love at first sight. Clete proposed to Myrna the night of their first date. She was a devoted wife until he passed on January 26th 1986.

Myrna loved her family and friends first and foremost. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her whole heart and would do anything for them. She enjoyed watching her soap operas, Jeopardy, Homicide Hunter: Joe Kenda, and Chrisley Knows Best on television. Her Nook was always stocked with her books by her favorite authors, including JD Robb and Patricia Cornwell.

Before she came to help her ailing grandson in St Louis Park Minnesota, Myrna enjoyed spending time with her best friend Char Lee. They loved taking road trips together, going out to lunch, and having fun at karaoke.

Myrna was an inspiration to others when it came to her tender soul and unconditional love. She was called "Granny" by almost everyone that she knew. She accepted and took those under her wing who didn't have family or had been turned away because of past mistakes. Myrna made an impression on so many people, because of her infectious laugh and kind ways.

Myrna is survived by her son, Thomas (Christiane) Webster, daughter Diana Webster, granddaughters Mellissa Webster, Luvinya Watson & Jody Wiltse, Grandsons Julian and Daniel Webster & Shaun Hurkmans, great-grandchildren Jonathan and Love Christianson, Emalee Bledsoe, and Charlotte Wiltse, Nephews Robert "Hud" Webster & Donald "Sam" Webster, and many other beloved family and friends.

Myrna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Archibald Cletus Smith, parents Julius and Evanell (Jackson) Webster, daughter Margaret Webster, Sister Peggy Webster, Brothers Julius and Donald Webster, Cousin Roger Neadeau.

A private viewing was held prior to her cremation on August 27th, 2015.

A traditional Ojibwa funeral ceremony will be held on September 5th, 2015 at the White Earth Community Center in White Earth, MN.

The family gratefully declines flowers, but donations are being accepted to cover the costs related to providing Myrna with a proper funeral.
