Chief Anderson wins second term with 55% of votes

Chief Phyliss J. Anderson was re-elected Tuesday with 55 percent of the vote, defeating former chief Beasley Denson in complete but uncertified votes.

Anderson polled 1,995 votes while Denson had 1,627 after absentees were tallied Wednesday afternoon.

Anderson carried the communities of Pearl River, Bogue Chitto, Standing Pine, Tucker, Red Water and Conehatta.
