Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby has officially proclaimed Wednesday, August 19, 2015 as the Chickasaw Nation Day of Prayer.
A special ceremony to commemorate the occasion is planned for 9 a.m. Aug. 19 at the Chickasaw Cultural Center, Sulphur.
The third annual Chickasaw Nation Day of Prayer will feature remarks by Gov. Anoatubby, special hymns by area church choirs, a poem, a Chickasaw prayer, and a message from event organizer Pastor Randy Wade.
The observance, which is themed "Raising a Standard" is open to the public.
A reception in the Anoli' Theatre lobby will immediately follow the ceremony.
