Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig schools on Congressional radar
BENA—Members of the Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig school board and staff were pleased to see their school's name on a Congressional letter of support to the U.S. Department of the Interior at Thursday's school board meeting.
Interim Superintendent and Special Education Coordinator Pam Walker distributed a letter signed by U.S. Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken and Reps. John Kline, Tim Walz, Erik Paulsen, Betty McCollum, Keith Ellison, Tom Emmer, Collin Peterson and Rick Nolan stating they will be monitoring progress on the department's updating of a school replacement list from 2004. The letter addressed to Asst. Secretary of Indian Affairs Kevin Washburn was sent Thursday.
