Beltrami County deputy in stable condition after being struck by vehicle: Red Lake man scheduled to appear in court Tuesday

BEMIDJI—A Beltrami County Deputy is in stable condition after he was struck by a vehicle during a pursuit Friday from the Red Lake Indian Reservation into Beltrami County. The driver of the vehicle is scheduled to be arraigned in Beltrami County District Court on Tuesday.

Deputy David Hart, 32, was one of the deputies who responded to a call for assistance at approximately 5:30 p.m. Friday from the Red Lake Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The agencies were engaged in a pursuit with a reported armed suspect following an assault that occurred on the reservation, according to a Beltrami County Sheriff's Office release issued Monday.
