Allison Maree Benton, "Bizhiibiioshiikwe" which means Whirl Wind Woman, age 44, of Red Lake, began her spiritual journey on Thursday, August 6, 2015 in Bemidji. She was born on June 1, 1971 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Gordon Lee Neadeau and Marilyn Annette Benton.

Allison loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was always forgiving and she had a very big heart. She was a bubbly, crazy woman with a beautiful soul who was happy all the time. Allison was a beautiful light for everyone in her life. She took pride in being a wonderful auntie to all her nieces and nephews, treating them all like they were her own. Allison practiced her traditional values and traveled a lot with her mom to ceremonies. This is where she met many very influential women who she admired. Allison used her Art Therapy education when she was the art coordinator for the Boys and Girls Club L.C.O. in Wisconsin. She was also a very respected women's advocate for Equay Wiigaamig.

Those family members that Allison joins again are her parents; Gordon and Marilyn, grandparents; Mildred Isham, Henry Neadeau, and Susan Kelley Neadeau, one sister; Cindy Wade, numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Family members she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her significant other; David Roy, brothers; Burton (Gina) Benton of Red Lake, Kerry Benton of St. Paul, Terry Neadeau, Jr. of Red Lake, and Loren (Lylis) Siegel of Prairie Island, sisters; Tara Neadeau of Minneapolis, and Michelle Antonio of New Mexico, nieces; Shanelle, Levayah, Nancy, Skyler, Alyzah, Miranda, and Martina, nephews; Two Bears, Geezhik, Bryce, Gordon, Ambrose, Talon, Chris, and all of her We'enehs.

A wake for Allison will begin at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2015 and will continue until the 10:00 a.m. service on Tuesday, August 11, all at the Old Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake.
