SISSETON, South Dakota | When Todd Clausen of Sioux City saw a car catch on fire on the opposite lanes of Interstate 29 near Summit, South Dakota, on June 9 he didn’t think twice -- he pulled over and ran to assist.
By the time he and another passer-by, Jameson Bartscher, of Aberdeen, South Dakota, reached the car, it was engulfed in flames. Bartscher quickly quelled the blaze with a fire extinguisher, but for some reason the car doors wouldn’t open.
