CDC visits Colville Reservation

Nespelem—With the fires that have plagued the area recently, smoke and hazy skies have been the norm, but that didn’t stop representatives of the Center for Disease Control from coming to the Colville Indian Reservation.

In all, eight members of the CDC toured the Colville Tribal Museum in Coulee Dam then the old Indian Health Service’s Clinic in Nespelem, Aug. 6, with Colville Business Council representatives.

“I’m glad that you’re out here,” said Mel Tonasket, CBC Omak district representative, speaking of the CDC members. “I’ve been on and off this council for over 45 years or so, and this is the first time I’ve ever seen anyone from CDC come out here and see what it looks like.”
