Shriners Hospitals for Children - Twin Cities welcomes new Physician

MINNEAPOLIS -Shriners Hospitals for Children(r) - Twin Cities is pleased to welcome Christopher S. Vara, M.D. to the medical staff.

Dr. Vara is a board-certified pediatric orthopaedic surgeon with areas of special interest in cerebral palsy, hip dysplasia, early onset scoliosis, trauma, foot deformities, adolescent scoliosis, congenital scoliosis, and lower limb angular deformities.

After graduating from the United States Military Academy and completing 5 years of service in the United States Army, he completed medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He then completed an orthopaedic residency at University Hospitals Case Medical Center, an adult spine surgery fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital and a pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship at Shriners Hospitals for Children - Salt Lake City.

Dr. Vara is drawn to Shriners Hospitals for Children's philosophy of caring for the whole child, including social and emotional needs, as well as the orthopaedic conditions. Dr. Vara believes that Shriners Hospitals for Children truly embody a team centered approach to care and is excited to join the team.
