New Website Launch Showcases Minnesota's Rich Tradition of American Legion Baseball

Legionbaseballhub.com will provide real-time statistics and scores from all 306 legion baseball teams in the state

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA (July 20, 2015) – Nick Kennedy, founder of http://www.legionbaseballhub.com announced today his site’s launch to coincide with the beginning of Minnesota’s American Legion Baseball playoff season which starts this week.

The site is the first of its kind to connect all 306 of Minnesota’s American Legion baseball clubs. Features of the site include updated statistics, real-time scoring, a section for Legion players to be showcased for perusal of college and professional scouts, and an online store where players, teams and coaches can order all supplies they need.

“This site was created for two reasons,” said Kennedy, a former head coach of the Edina American Legion team and its current assistant coach. “First, there has never been a single place for coaches, fans and scouts to learn more about the teams and players. Secondly, the site is a platform to honor the great American Legion posts in our state that support veterans and have supported young ballplayers for 90 years.” Kennedy said 5% of all revenue will be donated back to the State Legion programs to help honor our veterans and the tradition of legion baseball.

“There was definitely a void in this market,” said Kennedy. “When I was coaching, it was very difficult to find any information on other teams, who was winning in the other sections, and who made it to state etc… This site will be a new single-source for all things Legion Baseball related.”

One of the unique aspects of the site is that it will help young ballplayers connect with college scouts.

“In speaking with over 50+ college baseball coaches, there was nothing but positivity in creating a section on the site which will be the premier and most credible spot for college coaches to access information on the player and how that relates to the recruiting process.”

Under the direction of the site’s recruiting coordinator and former Minnesota Twins hero and current Edina Legion Head Coach Gene Larkin, the site will provide the raw data college coaches desire when on the recruiting trail.

“This is a phenomenal resource for all of Minnesota’s legion baseball teams,” said Larkin. “Anybody affiliated with the game will benefit.”

Kennedy believes that nothing has had a more positive impact on the Minnesota Legion Baseball community in its 90 years than this site.

“It’s a game changer. It’s going bring a lot of positive attention to the kids who are at the heart of American Legion Baseball,” said Kennedy. “Minnesota is at the top of the list nationally as far as number of teams for Legion Baseball . We have always been leaders in the game and this site further cements our status as the class of Legion Baseball.”
