Marks rrested without incident

UPDATE: Marks was arrested without incident in the Big Lake area of Sherburne County, after a concerned citizen called 911. He is currently in the Sherburne County Jail. The DOC thanks law enforcement, the media and the public for their assistance in this search.

LEVEL 3 PREDATORY OFFENDER SOUGHT BY MINNESOTA DOC

July 13, 2015--The Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a level 3 predatory sex offender who is no longer complying with the conditions of his release from prison.

Darren Steven Marks was released from prison on July 8, 2013, on Intensive Supervised Release (ISR) in Hennepin County. He is required to check in with his agent a minimum of twice a month, but has not been in compliance. He was last seen July 3, 2015, in the Midway area of St. Paul.

Marks is 49 years old. He is Caucasian with medium skin tone, has brown hair and blue eyes, and is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 193-225 pounds. He was last seen with a long beard, wearing a red Ecko T-shirt, black and gray backpack, and a Sons of Anarchy baseball hat. He was also seen riding a blue bicycle.

Marks was incarcerated in 1993 for criminal sexual conduct against a known female. He also has prison sentences for controlled substance possession in 2006 and failing to register as a predatory sex offender in 2013.

Citizens should not attempt to confront Marks. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the DOC's 24-hour tipline at 651-603-0026.
