Highway 371 construction begins Monday

BEMIDJI -- Motorists on state Highway 371 between Cass Lake and Walker should expect lane closures, slow traffic and delays as a construction project begins Monday.

Flaggers and a pilot car will allow one-way, alternating traffic through the work zone. Motorists should slow down and prepare to stop as they approach each work zone, and must obey flaggers and use caution as they follow the pilot car through the daily work zone, a release said. Crews from Anderson Brothers will remove and replace the deteriorated pavement, replace culverts, add turn lanes and improve pedestrian crossings. The $5.7 million project is expected to last through October, weather permitting
