Gathering of Native Artisans at the All Nations Indian Relay Championships

Artists and exhibitors from Indian nations across the country will showcase handcrafted wares and art during the four-day Championship event in Billings, Montana this September

BILLINGS, Mont. -- The Professional Indian Horse Racing Association (PIHRA) announced today that a large gathering of Native American artisans representing numerous Indian Nations will be displaying and selling authentic, handmade arts and crafts at the All Nations Indian Relay Championships September 17-20, 2015, at the MetraPark Grandstands in Billings, Mont.

Exhibitors will join Native American dancers, musicians and representatives of the Armed Forces in providing an all-around cultural experience for attendees at the Championships. This “Gathering of Native Artisans” will give attendees an opportunity to buy one-of-a-kind Native American art directly from the artists themselves. Several hundred artisans representing Indian Nations from all over the United States are expected to attend, especially those from the Horse Nations of the Upper Plains. The festive setting also includes food trucks, delicious barbecue hot off the smoker and food booths selling everything from domestic beer to Indian Tacos.

This cultural celebration is part of the third annual All Nations Relay Championships – this is the culmination of a summer-long competition where teams from the top Horse Nations battle for enough points to qualify them for an invitation to attend this coveted relay event. This year, the top 30 teams will be invited to attend and compete for the largest purse in Indian Relay history. Between 25,000 to 40,000 spectators are expected to attend the four-day championship event.
