"Meet the Sculptors Series"

The Bemidji Sculpture Walk will be presenting a series of “Meet the Sculptor Talks” as part of the First Friday Art Walk nights in Bemidji . Our first featured sculptor will be Bemidji artist - Roger Loyson . Roger's work has taken him in many different directions and all over the US and world . He has created sculptures with many different materials including steel, aluminum, fiberglass and bronze. Bronze is his favorite. "Once you work directly with the metal (bronze) it seems to speak to you, telling you what shape and form it desires, “ he has noted .

Roger will present about his art processes and show his art works at the Northwest MN Foundation Lake Bemidji Room on July 10th from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM with an appetizers reception to welcome those who want to learn more about the artists of the Bemidji Sculpture Walk . ( Thereafter our presentations will be on the First Fridays , but we chose not to present on the weekend of the 4th . ) The Northwest MN Foundation Lake Bemidji room is located at 201 3rd St NW, Bemidji .

Upcoming featured artists in August are Native American stone sculptor from Zerkel, MN - Simon Zornes on August 7th , followed by Puposky stone and metal sculptor Al Belleveau on Sept. 4th followed by some of our dragonfly fiberglass sculpture artists in October .
