Government contracting can provide a leg-up to small businesses that need to meet their bottom line and become sustainable. Government contracting is a win-win opportunity - the Federal government gets to work with innovative, forward-thinking companies, and small firms get tapped into the supply chain of one of the largest buyers in the world.

The Small Business Administration's 8(a) Business Development and HUBZone certification programs are a couple of tools the government has to help ensure more small and small disadvantaged businesses can compete and win contracts in federal, state and local procurement markets.

While the certification programs are easily accessible, the procedural process can be at first intimidating, confusing, and then frustrating concerning the amount of paperwork required. The NDN-PTAC procurement specialists can advise individual American Indian small business owners and tribally owned businesses about the application process required for each certification, what you may expect from SBA and what is expected of you. Specialists may be able to point out areas that may need further review or explanation prior to submission of your application. There is no charge for these services.

The NDN-PTAC's mission is to assist in increasing American Indian participation in these programs as well as advising and assisting companies throughout the entire government contracting process.

The NDN-PTAC is hosting a free training session on the SBA 8(a) and HUBZone Programs for American Indian Individual and Tribal owned Businesses

Frustrated or confused by all the government paper- work? Come by the Red Lake Nation College and find out why you should call the NDN-PTAC when you have questions or need assistance.

The NDN-PTAC services are always FREE!
